Larry’s Beard and Head Shave Fundraising Event
Larry Doyle, our Managing Director, has been growing out his hair and beard to raise funds for men’s mental health.
Any contribution to this worthy cause would be deeply appreciated.
We’re hosting a fundraising event on December 7th at The Jerpoint in Thomastown, and we’d love to see you there.
Larry shared some thoughts on why he’s taken on this challenge:
“Throughout my years in business, I’ve witnessed firsthand the profound impact mental health issues have had on friends, colleagues, and clients. Having faced my own challenges and seen how underfunded and overstretched services have become, I feel driven to try to make a difference. I hope the funds raised through this fundraiser will directly support men who are struggling. The resources available to men in distress are limited and pushed to their breaking point. By raising funds and awareness, we aim to ensure that more men can access the support they desperately need. Mental health is a societal issue that affects men from every walk of life. Depression knows no boundaries of race, class, or background.”
The event will begin at 7 p.m. on December 7th, and the highlight of the night will be Larry’s commitment to shave his head and beard—and even undergo a back and chest waxing—all in the name of men’s mental health.
All funds raised will be donated to the following impactful organizations:
* Teac Tom: Founded by Angela Hayes in 2014, Teac Tom is dedicated to helping individuals and families in crisis, providing essential mental health services to our community.
* Men’s Aid Ireland: Chosen for their crucial work, Men’s Aid Ireland provides confidential, victim-centered support to male victims of domestic violence and coercive control.
* Thomastown Men’s Shed, Kilkenny Men’s Shed, and Déise Men’s Shed: These local men’s sheds provide spaces where men can find camaraderie, support, and purpose.
We also want to thank Knnza Spring Beauty & Day Spa for their generous contribution of waxing and shaving services for this event.
